Methodology

The data shows the number of emergency admissions (admimeth 21 to 28) and the total number of spells by PCT (registered) and SHA in the financial year 2009/10. The figures are presented as a rate (emergency admissions divided by spells) by PCT, nationally and by SHA.

The PCT 2009/10 rates are compared to those of 2006/07 to calculate the '3 year percentage change' (the difference in rate between 2006/07 and 2009/10 divided by the 2006/07 rate).
